School Programmes
We care about developing physical and mental skills to young people through kayaking.

Learn to Kayak
Kayaking is a water sport that involves paddling a small watercraft known as a kayak propelled by using a double-bladed paddle. Kayaking can be done in various types of water bodies, including rivers, lakes, seas, and oceans.
Royal Canoe Club is predominantly a flatwater racing club, competing in both marathon and sprint racing across the UK. This entails paddling the kayak over distances from a 500m up to 10k and is a great test of speed, endurance and stamina.
What We Offer
Our coaching is led by two qualified British Canoeing Performance Coaches who have over 10 years’ experience coaching beginners all the way through to international paddlers.
Throughout our sessions, we aim to deliver a safe and enjoyable water experience which enables young people (aged 9 – 15) to build confidence being on the river and taking on novel challenges in a new environment.
Over the past few years, we have had huge success running school programs and summer water sport camps for new people who have thrived being on the river. Running programmes to build kayaking skills and Stand Up Paddleboarding provides the students the opportunity to try a range of sports on the river.
